# The National Research Foundation of South Africa has announced the culmination of its funding call under the Belmont Forum Collaborative Research Action initiative. A total of ten transdisciplinary research projects were selected for funding. Spokesperson Bongani Nkosi says 172 pre-proposals and 59 full proposals were submitted to the NRF by researchers from across the world. The ten selected projects are led by researchers based at African institutions. Nkosi sayd a total of 853.8-million-rand from 14 funders has been committed over a period of three years.
