# The White House has described US president Donald Trump’s meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in Alaska on Friday as a listening session. Russia has indicated it was prepared to consider a ceasefire with Ukraine, in exchange for Kyiv withdrawing from the parts of Donbas it still controlled.
