# The Western Cape government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Business Initiative to advance climate and economic development, backed by Denmark. Provincial MEC for Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism, Ivan Meyer, emphasised climate change as a top priority, highlighting the province’s rapid renewable energy growth. Meyer says that the agreement, funded with 20-million-rand from Denmark, aims to foster sustainable energy projects, economic inclusion, and skills development.
