# The University of Johannesburg has unveiled its new Rescue Simulation Centre at the Doornfontein Campus. The four-storey, three-thousand-cubic-metre facility provides realistic, integrated training for Emergency Medical Care students, combining high-risk scenarios under one roof. Features include a deep pool with wave generation, helicopter underwater escape training, confined space tunnels, and urban search-and-rescue simulators. Supported by the Department of Higher Education and Training, the centre aims to enhance disaster response skills, foster research, and collaborate with institutions across Africa.
