# United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has strongly condemned the latest attacks by Russia on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. At least 27 people were killed and 91 injured, including children, when Russian forces launched a major drone and missile attack on Kyiv on Wednesday. Guterres spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, says between December 2025 and May this year, civilian casualties in Ukraine increased by 40-percent compared with the same period a year earlier:
