# The United Democratic Movement Youth Vanguard is demanding that government creates a plan to address the continuing rise in teenage and child pregnancies across South Africa. Spokesperson Zintombi Sododile says according to recent reports, 31-thousand girls aged 10 to 19 gave birth in KwaZulu-Natal in the past year and over 23-thousand teenage pregnancies were recorded in Gauteng. She says protecting the nation’s children must become a visible test of the GNU’s moral leadership:
