# Two accused appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court in Gauteng on charges of fraud linked to Capitec Bank. During November 2023 and January last year, the bank experienced an incomprehensible system glitch during which a client, one of the accused, allegedly unlawfully transferred over six-million-rand into his Capitec business account as well as credit card. Hawks spokespersonr Thatohatsi Mavimbela says the two accused transferred the money to several other bank accounts and purchased two vehicles, resulting in an actual loss of more than four-million-rand.
