# The City of Tshwane has removed 65 illegal structures built along the M17 Road in Mbopane, with some identified as hubs for illicit activities like drug sales. The removal was part of the broader Re A Spana accelerated service delivery programme, targeting shacks and trading stalls that have encroached on the station area since the early 1990s. Mayoral committee member for Human Settlements, Aaron Maluleka, says this is a significant step in the metro’s efforts to reclaim public space and revitalise the local economy.
