Tshwane mayor calls for fair climate action in cities to reduce risk of disasters [SOUND]

# Tshwane mayor Nasiphi Moya says climate change is hitting vulnerable communities hardest, with poor households most affected by flooding, heat and infrastructure damage. Speaking at the Climate Action Support Project launch, Moya stressed that local climate responses must prioritise resilience, dignity and fairness. Moya says municipalities must focus on mitigation and preparedness, reducing risks before disasters strike, to better protect communities and ensure inclusive, sustainable urban development.
