# The City of Tshwane Emergency Services is calling on all communities to remain vigilant and alert following a red fire danger index warning issued by the South African Weather Service. Emergency spokesperson, Nana Radebe-Kgiba says extremely dangerous veld fire conditions are expected to persist across most parts of Gauteng, including Tshwane today until eight o’clock in the evening. He says the fire danger index above 75 indicates conditions under which fires can develop easily and spread rapidly:
