# US president Donald Trump has confirmed that right-wing activist Charlie Kirk will be posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honour awarded by the president. A supporter of Trump, Kirk, was shot dead while speaking at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. He was at the first stop of his America Comeback Tour, during which he was scheduled to travel to universities to engage with students.
