# The Supreme Court Monday declined to take up an appeal from President Donald Trump over an 80-million-rand verdict and finding that he sexually abused and defamed E. Jean Carroll. The decision means the president will now have to pay the magazine columnist. Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan said the Supreme Court decision affirms once and for all the jury’s unanimous verdict that Trump sexually assaulted and defamed Carroll. The president’s legal team in a statement said Americans stand with Trump and demand an immediate end to all of the witch hunts against the president.
