Trump issues a ban on travel to the US from 12 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, and Sudan [SOUND]

# US president Donald Trump has signed a proclamation banning travel to America from nationals of 12 countries, effective from June 9th, citing national security risks. The countries are Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. People from seven countries will have partial restrictions: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela. Trump says the proclamation includes exceptions for lawful permanent residents, existing visa holders, and individuals whose entry serves US interests:
