The world’s strongest ocean current is slowing down due to climate change

# Scientists are warning that the world’s strongest ocean current, the Antarctic Circumpolar Current, is slowing down due to climate change. The Antarctic Circumpolar Current, a clockwise current more than four times stronger than the Gulf Stream, links the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans. According to an Australian-led study, the ocean current could slow down by 20-percent by 2050, further accelerating Antarctic ice sheet melting and sea level rise. Co-author doctor, Taimoor Sohail, says concerted efforts to limit global warming will limit Antarctic ice melting, averting the projected slowdown.
