Prize money was increased by 20-percent this year after players complained they don’t get a big enough cut of the grasscourt Grand Slam tournament’s income. A total of 1.4-billion-rand will be awarded, with first-round singles losers still receiving 1.7-million-rand. Losing finalists will earn 39-million-rand. Wimbledon starts at the All England Club in London on Monday.
