# Tennis: American tennis great Venus Williams has suffered her 16th consecutive singles defeat, losing 6-2, 6-2 to Austrian teenager Lilli Tagger at the Guangzhou Open in China. The 46-year-old seven-time Grand Slam champion is still searching for her first singles win since July last year. The 18-year-old Tagger is ranked 53rd in the world, compared with Williams at 599th. The 28-year age gap between the players is reportedly among the largest in WTA Tour history. Williams did, however, win her doubles match in Guangzhou on Monday.
