Norwegian eighth seed Casper Ruud reached the fourth round with a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Portuguese Nuno Borges and will face Russia’s Karen Khachanov, who overcame American qualifier Emilio Nava, 6-7, 6-4, 6-1. In the women’s tournament in Montreal, top seed American Coco Gauff advanced to the fourth round with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory over Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova.
