Eighth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece defeated Italian Matteo Berrettini 6-3, 6-3, while Japanese qualifier Yosuke Watanuki knocked out American Frances Tiafoe 6-4, 7-6. In the women’s draw, defending champion Iga Swiatek of Poland beat Ukraine’s Dayana Yastremska 6-love, 6-2.
