The 20-year-old world number 28 is described as one of the most promising young talents. He says a series of injuries kept him out of important tournaments and from playing the way he wanted to. Fonseca missed the US Open due to abdominal pain before returning to help Brazil reach the Davis Cup Finals. He will miss this year’s tournaments in Tokyo, Japan, and Shanghai in China.
