# The South African National Taxi Council is mourning the loss of learners who were swept away during recent floods in the Eastern Cape. A 22-seater scholar transport vehicle, belonging to one of its members, was swept away by floodwaters near Mthatha on Tuesday. The council has expressed deep appreciation to the provincial government for its ongoing search and rescue efforts. Santaco’s Rebecca Phala pledged their full support to grieving families:
