Taxi bosses call for peace amid ongoing Western Cape violence

# A long-running conflict between the Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association and the Cape Organisation for the Democratic Taxi Association resurfaced amid ongoing violence over taxi routes. The violence, driven mostly by disputes over routes, has claimed the lives of numerous taxi owners and drivers over the years. Outgoing chair of SANTACO Mandla Hermanus urges rival groups to cooperate, stressing that a stronger political will is needed to end killings and prioritise safety in the industry.
