Tanzania’s compulsory travel insurance begins today

# Tanzania will require foreign visitors entering the mainland to have mandatory travel insurance from today. The policy will cost 720-rand for adults and 360-rand for children aged three to 17, while infants under three are exempt from payment. The insurance, issued through the National Insurance Corporation, covers emergency medical treatment, evacuation, repatriation and luggage loss. Citizens and residents of the East African Community and SADC countries are exempt. Travellers can obtain the policy online or on arrival.
