Supreme Court rules the Trump administration can continue with mass layoffs of federal workers

# The Supreme Court has lifted a lower court order that blocked sweeping layoffs of federal workers by the US president Donald Trump’s administration. The decision could result in hundreds of thousands of job losses, including at the departments of Treasury, Agriculture, Commerce, and Health. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, who was the sole member of the nine-person court to publicly dissent from the decision, accused her colleagues of demonstrating an enthusiasm for greenlighting Trump’s legally dubious actions in an emergency posture.
