# Statistics South Africa says the number of civil summonses for debt fell by 7.4-percent in the three months ending August compared with the same period last year. Civil judgments recorded dropped by 8.7-percent compared with the same period the previous year. Stats SA’s Onica Mushwana says the data shows fewer debt cases are being processed, but the financial impact of judgments remains significant:
