# The State has provisionally closed its case in the trial-within-a-trial involving Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and his co-accused. The proceedings are examining whether evidence seized after Musa Kekana’s April 2024 arrest can be admitted in the main case. Advocate Elize Le Roux says the State has now concluded presenting its evidence, with the defence expected to call its first witness. Kekana’s lawyers want the court to throw out all evidence obtained during and after his arrest because of police action.
