Standard Bank sets new sustainable finance target of R450-billion by 2028

# Standard Bank has raised its sustainable finance target to 450-billion-rand by 2028, focusing on energy and infrastructure development across Africa. This new target surpasses its previous goal of 250-billion-rand by 2026. The bank has already mobilised 177-billion-rand since 2022, with a significant portion allocated to renewable energy projects. Standard Bank Group head of sustainability, Boitumelo Sethlatswe, says the bank is committed to decarbonisation and achieving net-zero financed emissions by 2050, continuing its support for Africa’s energy transition.
