# The South African government has strongly condemned last week’s deadly attacks perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces in El Fasher, the besieged capital of North Darfur state in Sudan. At least 20 civilians were killed in attacks targeting a mosque and the last functioning hospital in El Fasher. The Department of International Relations and Cooperation’s spokesperson, Chrispin Phiri, says the only sustainable solution is a negotiated, inclusive, and Sudanese-owned political dialogue:
