Soccer: Germany sets new record for ticket sales in previous season

# Soccer: Germany’s ticket sales and club revenues recorded record numbers in the country’s top-two leagues in the 2023/’24 season. A total of 20.74-million tickets were sold, marking the first time the 20-million barrier has been surpassed. The revenue of 116.6-billion-rand is 12-percent more than the previous record set in the 2022/’23 season. Germany’s Bundesliga averages higher attendances than England’s Premier League, Spain’s LaLiga and Italy’s Serie A. The sport employed 62-thousand staff last season compared to the previous record of 56-thousand before the Covid-19 pandemic.
