# Soccer: Coventry City have climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone after beating Newcastle United four-one at home yesterday. Jack Rudoni opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Guinean striker Sidiki Cherif doubled the lead shortly after half-time. Newcastle defender Sven Botman pulled one back, but late goals from substitutes Ellis Simms and Stephen Mfuni sealed a convincing victory for Frank Lampard’s side. Coventry have now won two consecutive league games after losing their opening four matches without scoring. They have climbed from 19th to 14th place.
