# The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Fire Services, along with their partners, have successfully contained the wildfire in the Slanghoek Valley overnight. The municipality’s spokesperson, Anesca Roodt says the fire, which was reported late yesterday afternoon, originated behind a farm school and quickly spread through dense vegetation towards Goudini. She says strong winds fanned the fire and hindered firefighting efforts:
