# Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber welcomed the arrest of two former Home Affairs officials and four members of the public over alleged fraud and corruption linked to the irregular late registration of a birth at the Malamulele Home Affairs office in Limpopo. The Hawks arrested the suspects following an investigation by the department’s Counter Corruption Unit. Spokesperson Carli van Wyk says they appeared in the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court and remain in custody. She says bail proceedings are set for 4 August.
