SIU has referred over 3,000 cases to the NPA and Hawks in the past five years [SOUND]

# The Special Investigating Unit says it has referred three-thousand-374 cases to the National Prosecuting Authority and the Hawks in the past five years. These referrals involve corruption across various state institutions, municipalities and public entities. According to the Hawks, 58 of these cases are currently before the courts, and 96 dockets are awaiting a decision from the NPA.
