Several countries, including South Africa calls for Israel to release Global Sumud Flotilla activists

# A joint statement by foreign ministers of several countries, including South Africa, has condemned the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla. The flotilla, comprising over 40 vessels carrying activists seeking to deliver aid into Gaza, was intercepted by Israeli naval forces on Thursday. The statement by eleven countries, including South Africa, Spain, Brazil, Turkey, Malaysia, Jordan, and Pakistan, condemned in the strongest terms the assault by Israeli forces on the flotilla, a peaceful civil humanitarian initiative to draw the attention of the world to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
