# The South African Police Service and the Higher Education Department, has launched the Community Campus Safety Forum at Tshwane University of Technology. The initiative aims to combat rising campus crime, including theft, assault, and murder. Speaking to SABC News, TUT’s Simon Mphai says student-led safety committees will work alongside police and non-governmental organisations to enhance campus security. He confirmed that the framework will be rolled out across all universities to ensure safer learning environments:
