# The South African National Taxi Council is marking Mandela Day with a special initiative to clean taxi ranks and raise awareness about gender-based violence in Ekurhuleni, in Gauteng. Partnering with the Commission for Gender Equality, the campaign aims to promote dignity, safety, and respect at taxi ranks. Santaco’s Rebecca Phala says the effort reflects their commitment to creating a public transport environment where no commuter is harassed or harmed:
