# Defence minister Angie Motshekga has announced that plans are underway to safely repatriate South African National Defence Force soldiers deployed in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The return depends on progress in ceasefire negotiations between warring factions. Speaking at the Rand Easter Show in Johannesburg, Motshekga stated that logistics are being finalised, including potential routes due to the closure of Goma Airport:
