# Municipal union Samwu in the Western Cape says the City of Cape Town must account for public funds spent defending a tariff structure that has now been declared unlawful by the courts. The union argues the city is spending excessive money on prolonged litigation, which delays justice for workers and communities. Samwu Provincial Secretary Mhle Dlamini says funds spent on unsuccessful litigation could have been directed to service delivery and community needs.
