The South African Local Government Association says it continues to advocate for constructive engagement between municipalities and communities. This followed the violent service delivery protests in Ratanda, in Lesedi Local Municipality, Gauteng, resulting in the tragic loss of life and the torching of the mayor’s property on Friday. SALGA spokesperson, Motalatale Modiba says residents are encouraged to utilise established channels of communication and public participation to raise their concerns:
