SALGA calls for tougher action against political violence ahead of local elections [SOUND]

# The South African Local Government Association calls for tougher action against political violence ahead of the local government elections in November. The call follows a series of deadly attacks over the weekend in Cape Town, Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape and the West Rand in Gauteng, in which a by-election candidate, a ward councillor and two political party members were killed.
