SACP calls Eskom’s planned Joburg power cuts unreasonable and irresponsible

# The South African Communist Party says Eskom’s threat to cut power to Johannesburg over municipal debt is unreasonable, irresponsible, and punitive. The party has condemned the move, warning it would unfairly punish residents and worsen conditions for working-class communities already facing ongoing power disruptions. The SACP’s Mbulelo Mandlana says the energy crisis is the result of long-standing governance failures, poor infrastructure management, and broader economic inequality, and cannot be solved through blanket power cuts.
