# The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry says trade conditions remained subdued in June but are expected to improve over the next six months. The latest Trade Conditions Survey shows that lower crude oil and fuel prices have boosted business confidence after earlier cost pressures linked to the Middle East conflict. SACCI CEO Alan Mukoki says while high input costs, weak retail sales and slowing manufacturing continue to weigh on trade, businesses are optimistic that improving conditions will support increased hiring and stronger economic activity.
