# Statistics South Africa says retail trade sales increased by 1.6-percent in June. The biggest contributors were other retailers and general dealers, which both recorded growth. However, seasonally adjusted sales fell by 0.6-percent compared with May. Between April and June, retail sales increased by 1.7-percent compared with the same period last year. Stats SA’s Raquel Floris says the figures point to continued, but modest, growth in consumer spending:
