# The South African government has expressed heartfelt condolences to India following the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171 shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad. The flight, en route to London, was carrying 242 passengers of various nationalities when it crashed into a doctors’ hostel. The cause remains unknown.
