Russia’s only remaining anti-war party is banned from contesting the parliamentary elections

# Russia’s Supreme Court has barred the liberal Yabloko party from contesting next month’s parliamentary elections, sidelining the only officially registered party that opposes Moscow’s war ‌in Ukraine. The case was filed by the small pro-Kremlin nationalist party Rodina, which alleged Yabloko had received undeclared campaign support, including from Western sources, among other accusations. Yabloko leader Nikolai Rybakov says they will appeal the ruling, describing Rodina’s claims as unsubstantiated and groundless. He emphasises the Justice Ministry had repeatedly inspected the party for various violations, but found nothing illegal.
