# Preliminary results from Russia’s first wartime parliamentary election show the main Kremlin party as expected dominating the vote. According to initial data from the Central Election Commission, the United Russia party, which backs president Vladimir Putin, is in the lead with nearly 58-percent of votes. Meaningful opposition is effectively non-existent in Moscow, with critics either barred, in jail, or exiled abroad. The liberal Yabloko party, which was removed from the ballot by the Supreme Court, has around 100 of its candidates in individual constituency races.
