# Rhodes University says talks with its Student Representative Council have made significant progress on concerns over the 2027 student fee payment protocol. Vice-Chancellor Sizwe Mabizela said following discussions yesterday, the university says areas of agreement and several concessions were reached. Mabizela emphasised that meaningful engagement has helped identify practical solutions while protecting the institution’s financial sustainability. The university will now revise the 2027 payment protocol and submit recommendations to its Council for approval.
