Reported daily gastrointestinal illness cases decline in Bronkhorstspruit

# Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya says daily reported gastrointestinal illness cases in Bronkhorstspruit are declining, offering some relief amid concerns over water contamination in the area. So far, 833 people have been affected by the outbreak, with about 40-percent of patients being children under four, after drinking water from the Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant, which had been unchlorinated for weeks when supplies had run out. Moya says affected communities must still continue to rely on the safe alternative water supplies provided by the metro, while the plant undergoes rehabilitation.
