# Renault in France announced it will produce military drones with defence technology firm Thales, marking the company’s further push into defence manufacturing. The car manufacturer will build Thales’ Toutatis remotely operated armed drones at one of its factories. Production of a thousand units a month will start next year, targeting mainly overseas markets. The companies say the deal would significantly ramp up France’s industrial capacity in a strategic area. Drones hovering over a target before striking have played a central role in the war in Ukraine.
