# South African organisations are facing over two-thousand-100 cyberattacks weekly in early 2026, a 36-percent-year-on-year increase driven by Artificial intelligence-powered threats and ransomware. Key targets include government, financial and consumer sectors. Cybersecurity expert and CEO of Clyrofor, Loyiso Boyce told Newzroom Afrika that phishing remains the main entry point with small and medium enterprises at risk.
