# The South African rand was little changed against the dollar in this morning’s trade, as investors awaited July inflation data. The rand traded at 16-rand-25 to the dollar, close to its previous level. Statistics South Africa is expected to report annual inflation easing to 4.5-percent from five-percent in June. Economists attribute the expected moderation to lower fuel and transport costs, easing food prices and stronger agricultural output. Retail sales data is also due later today.
